Self-examination of your skin is essential to early detect skin cancer, especially melanoma.
Here a practical guide on how to do it.
WHERE?
In front of a full-lenght mirror in a room with a good light.
WHEN?
Once a month.
WHY?
To get to know your moles and notice any changes.
HOW?
Learn where yourn moles are and how they look.
WHAT CAN HELP?
A hand-held mirror, a chair and a friend for hard-to-see area (e.g. scalp).

- Stand in front of the mirror and check the anterior partof your upper body and arms.
- Sit down and check your thighs, legs and feet.
- Use the hand-held mirror to check the back part of your body and your genital area.
- Ask your friend to check your scalp and any area that you could not see.
